I put together a little tutorial on rooting your Droid, directly from your Droid, no PC required!

You can take it a step further and wirelessly install Droid Root Helper to install busybox, flash_image, and a custom recovery image. From there, you can use nandroid to backup your entire phone to your SD card. You are now ready to install a custom ROM image!

Point your Droid’s browser to:

root.androidhacker.net
